The management team rescued a hummingbird that was dehydrated and near death. They made sugar water which the bird gratefully drank. General Manager, Angelique Wade, named the bird Emerald! Emerald was taken to @rogerswildlife Rehabilitation, a nonprofit wildlife rescue. The rescue team reported that it had an injured wing. They hope to rehab Emerald's wing and release it to the wild. If they cannot, Emerald will live in a large enclosure and be well cared for at the refuge. 💚

We suspect Emerald hit the building's glass, which happens to many birds, and why McKinney & Olive participates in Lights Out Texas. As birds migrate through Dallas during the fall, we ask our customers and other buildings to join us in either dimming or turning off unnecessary lights from midnight to 6 a.m. 🐦
The revitalization of our eye-catching oculi is complete! The oculi are the structural elements resembling an eye that frame the building at the corner of McKinney Avenue and Olive Street.

The design of the oculi has been enhanced by adding color-changing LED lighting to accentuate the beauty of the original design. Circles, the oculi, were initially chosen by the architect, Pelli Clarke Pelli, to represent equality, unity, and a symbol of infinity, with no beginning or end. 🎇
We had a zen beginning to our beautiful morning with yoga by @erinmessaround that quickly turned into an high energy dance party with @fitwithmartha of @socialjoy. Thank you to everyone that joined us to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and to @sanmartinusa for making the best Latin pastries in Dallas!
